Bloodroot - double flower (Sanguinaria canadensis). Family: Poppy. These bloodroots
with double flowers occur on the Woodland Garden path from the front gate to the Martha Crone Shelter. Martha Crone was quite fond of these as she sent examples to several friends in Minnesota and Iowa. |
Wood Poppy (Stylophorum diphyllum) Also called Celandine Poppy. Family: Poppy. Found near guidebook station #4 in the Woodland Garden, it is a solitary specimen. |

Wild Geranium (Geranium maculatum). Family: Geraniaeae. You will find large swaths of these in the Woodland Garden. Color can vary by micro-location. Native to the wooded parts of Minnesota. |
American Highbush Cranberry (Viburnum trilobum). Found near the Mallard Pool at the north end of the Woodland Garden. Viburnum Family. These shrubs are quite old, and produce large quantities of red berries in the fall. |
