Virginia Bluebells (Mertensia virginica) located in many places in the Woodland Garden. Borage Family. Native to Minnesota in SE section. Leaves can have a bluish appearance. Buds with a pink tinge. 2nd image under.
Pale Corydalis (Corydalis sempervirens) located in the Woodland Garden. Poppy Family. Native to Minnesota except the SW. 2nd image under.

Cut-leaved Toothwort (Dentaria lanciniata) located in many places in the Woodland Garden. Mustard Family. Native to the Minnesota woods of the SE and partially in the NE. 2nd image under.
Blue Cohosh (Caulophyllum thalictroides) located in many places in the Woodland Garden. Barberry Family. Native to the Minnesota woods, the "blue" refers to the color of the fruit which forms in early summer. 2nd image under of the unusual appearance of the emerging stem.

Yellow Trillium (Trillium viride var. luteum) located in the Woodland Garden. Lily family.
Wild Ginger (Asarum canadense) located in the Woodland Garden. Birthwort Family. A native of the Minnesota hardwoods community. Forms colonies of plants, each plant having only one flower, very low to the ground. 2nd image under.

Drooping Trillium (Declining Trillium) (Trillium flexipes) located in the Woodland Garden. Lily Family. The flower has a 2 to 4 inch long stalk causing the "droop".

False Rue-anemone (Enemion biternatum Raf.) located in many places in the Woodland Garden. Buttercup family. It generally occurs in thick patches. Found throughout the SE Minnesota woods. 2nd image under.
Rue-anemone (Thalictrum thalictroides L.) located in the Woodland Garden and a few places in the Upland Garden. Buttercup family. The flowers can be white to pink and stand above a whorl of leaflets whereas the False Rue-anemone flower rises from leaf axils..
